November is here and for a lot of people that means it’s time to get ready for Thanksgiving. People share recipes, try different things when they’re cooking and use different methods to create a new taste. Honey glazed ham of course is a popular choice and has been done for many years. However, honey glazed turkey is something a little different. It provides a unique taste to the thanksgiving staple. Taste a new flavor with a sweet and spicy honey glaze. Here’s a recipe we recommend from tasteofhome.com.
Prep: 25 min. Bake: 3-3/4 hours Yield: 14 Servings 25
Ingredients
- 1 turkey (14 to 16 pounds)
- GLAZE:
- 1/2 cup honey (We recommend your favorite Marshall’s Honey product or trying something different for a new flavor)
- 1/2 cup Dijon mustard
- 1-1/2 teaspoons dried rosemary, crushed
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 teaspoon pepper
Cooking Instructions
In a small bowl, mix glaze ingredients; brush over turkey. Bake 1-3/4 to 2-1/4 hours longer or until a thermometer inserted in thigh reads 180°. Baste occasionally with pan drippings. (Cover loosely with foil if turkey browns too quickly.)
Along with the turkey, honey can be used for a variety of other foods on Thanksgiving. Rolls, biscuits topped with honey are a perfect sweet addition to the meal. Of course, honey can be used in different pies like ginger-honey pumpkin pie or honey pecan pie. Even applying it to vegetables is a nice addition like honey mustard green beans.
